Sir,	Your letter to Colonel Beaumont of the 25th inst was sent me by him, & it being on business, an answer by Deputy I hope may not give you offence.  One Thousand Pounds (a part of the £5000 on Mortgage from the late Sir Thomas Blackett to the late Mr William Wilson) shall be paid to you on the 1st Novemr by a Bill on London at ten days date (if agreeable to you) on your giving a proper discharge on the Mortgage Deed, which Mr Pearson informs me is in your possession.  Inclosed I send you Messrs Surtees & Burdon’s Bill on Barclay’s & Co for £125 being one half years interest of the £5000 on Mortgage, the receipt of which you will please to acknowledge to     Sir etc     J.E.B
