Dear Sir	I wrote to you the 11th inst which I fear has miscarried as you have not in your Letter of the 15th inst taken any Notice of it.

I observe what you say as to the demand made on you by Pringles Widow;  I mentioned the Affair to Mr Williamson, & I this Morning had some Conversation with Mr Anth Surtees on the Business, who is to get Mr Williamson & Mr Heron to appoint a Time for Isaac Hunter, Westgarth, & Mr J Bell to come down & to have this Matter fully investigated.

With respect to the unreasonable Application to you by the Commissioners of the Almouth Road, I gave you my Opinion in a former Letter, Mr Bainbridge’s Conduct at the Meeting was very unhandsome & illiberal, but what can one expect from a Fool, but a foolish Speech.  Mt Bell writes me that he thinks that your Subscription towards the supplying the Poor of Hexham with Corn at a reduced Price should not be less than £50.  I am a Stranger to that Affair as well as to the Proceedings on a former Occasion.  In a former Letter I acquainted you with the Resolution of the Bishop of Durham to redeem the Land Tax of the Mines in Weardale as the Time had elapsed from your making that Purchase owing to the Omission of your Agent there, I now enclose you a Copy of the Letters that has passed on this Business.
