Thomas Richard Beaumont Esqr Newcastle 2d March 1798 Portman square London Dear Sir I am favoured with your letter of the 24th Ulto & observe what you say respecting the intended Division in Weardale; I have no doubt that it will be injurious to your concerns in some degree, but it appears that the Bishop of Durham has not only given his Consent to its taking place, but that he has promoted the Measure as much as possible, he may be benifited by it; You can not, however any opposition of yours to the Division would have little effect, as the Bishop of whom you hold Leases is friendly to the Measure; It will be highly necessary that you should have the full enjoyment of every right that you have exercised; The Bishops Law Agents in Conjunction with Mr Williamson & Mr Heron will look to that, & I will procure from your Weardale Agents every necessary Information that may be required, & as (by Mr Pearson’s letter) this business cannot go to Parliament this Sessions there will be full time to obtain every information & likewise to have this Matter fully considered. I send you enclosed a Copy of Mr Pearson’s letter to Mr Heron Mr Fishwick has not yet complied with his agreement & I do not expect to get the Bills till the 13th or 14th inst. I am etc J.E.B
