Dr Sir	I wrote to you the 23d inst to which I refer you.  To prevent any dispute hereafter respecting the Boundary of Alston Moor, and the Bishop of Durham’s Copyhold in Weardale under Lease to you, it is proposed to have the Boundary assertained & settled in the like manner that was done in the year 1777 between the Hospital Estate & the Regality of Hexham, I have had some conversation with the Bishop of Durham, as well as with Mr N Walton on this matter, who are very desirous that it should take place & I have consented to it, on your part, hoping that it may meet with your approbation          I am with respect etc

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
