Thomas Rd Beaumont Esq. Newcastle 4th July 1799 Bretton, Wakefield Yorkshire D[ea]r Sir Since my letter to you of the 2nd Inst. I received a letter from Mr Hardinge, a Copy of which I enclose, as well as a Copy of your Agreement with him for the Tithe Ore of Weardale Mines. The advance that he demands is considerable indeed, & I think out of reason, before an answer can be given to it this Matter must be well considered in the interim I have wrote to Mr Emerson to keep the Ore that may be wrought from the 11th Inst seperate from what had been wrought prior to that time; I shall acquaint Mr Hardinge with my Sentiments on this business & that when it is fully considered that he shall have an answer. I am with best respects to Mrs. Beaumt & yourself Dr. Sir etc J. E. B. The Ore wrought in Weardale Mines for the last six years on an average was 17535 Bings The Rectors due on which was 1753 Bings. The Average Price of Ore in Alston Moor for the last three years was £3 . 7. 0 P[er] Bing
