D[ea]r Sir        I was favoured with your letter of the 1st Inst with the Inclosures; I have had some conversation with Mr Williamson respecting the business he had likewise a similar letter from the Bishop with whom we had some discourse yesterday & Mr Williamson is fully satisfied that the omission in the Act of ( without paying any damage for the same / altho’ very improper) is remedied in the following Clause that neither this nor Lord Walsingham’s Clause can possibly be attended with any bad consequent to your Concern; So application is now making to the Lord Bishop of Durham for his Consent to the Division of other Commons & of course will be made to you;  It is strongly recommended that your answer may be; That you have no objection to such Divisions taking place; provided the Divisions may be solicited jointly by the Bishop of Durham & yourself & that your several Agents may meet for the purpose of preparing & settling the same.  I don’t see what can be done further respecting to the late Mr Newton’s claim, after the matter had been settled as we thought; Were you after this to consent to its being left to reference its probable that they would allow of all the changes as there would be no Evidence to disprove them.
