To Mr Stonehewer at Durham Newcastle 23 Mar 1731/2 Sir, I am ordered by Mr Blackett & Trustees appointed by the late Sr W[illia]m Blackett's will, to acquaint you that they are willing to pay my Lord Bishop of Durham £250 p[e]r annum rent for the Lot Oar from Candlemass last, w[hic]ch considering the poorness of those groves & the fall of Lead, they have agreed is the highest rent they can afford to pay, If his L[or]ds[hi]p shall not be pleas'd to accept of the offer, the Lot Oar will be paid him in kind from last Candlemass according to notice given his L[or]ds[hi]p by Mr Blackett & Mr Allgood when they were to wait upon him at Durham, I am etc J.R.
