Madam	I received your letter of yesterday and was rather surprised to find that you had forgot that there was £5 Added to the Bill for the Servants but on my mentioning the circumstances to you, I have no doubt but you will recollect that it was so _ Mess Grey & Beaumonts Bill as given in by you was £224-7-  We added £5 for the Servants which made £229-7  Col Beaumonts private Account was £25 6s 10d making together £254-13-10  I have no doubt but you will perfectly recollect that I paid you £255 in Notes & that you gave me 6s in change; I hope the above explanation will be satisfactory to you and if so you’ll please to give the Servants the £5 in such proportions as you think proper

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
